How are these tracked in Google Analytics?
If you have GA4 (Google Analytics 4) tracking configured on your store, whether manually or using the Fueled.io Integration, Atomic Widgets will push views and clicks into the Promotions report.
Events
View Promotion Event
When a widget is seen on the shoppers screen (it has to be partially in the browser's viewport), a view_promotion event is triggered.
Note: an element must be 50 pixels onto the screen to trigger this event.
Into this event, we push:
- The unique Widget ID as the Promotion ID
- The Widget Name as the Promotion Name
- The Widget Placement ID as the Creative Slot
- The Meta Info Name (as custom defined by you or simply the widget name) as the Creative Name
- (Where relevant) the product ID and name into the Items
Select Promotion Event
When a widget link or button is clicked, a select_promotion event is triggered.
Into this event, we push:
- The unique Widget ID as the Promotion ID
- The Widget Name as the Promotion Name
- The Widget Placement ID as the Creative Slot
- The Meta Info Name (as custom defined by you or simply the widget name) as the Creative Name
- (Where relevant) the product ID and name into the Items
Report
A key place you can view this data is the Promotions report.
